Triumph at Carville: A Tale of Leprosy in America
Authors: Produced by The Wilhelm Group
Description:
"Triumph at Carville: A Tale of Leprosy in America" documents the leprosy colony that existed in Carville, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge, for over a century. There, outcast patients were segregated from "normal" life for years, but many fought for a chance to see their children, or sneak out to watch a football game.
Patients were researched in order to find a treatment for leprosy, often at painful costs.
This film tells the story of these patients.
