Michigan Disability Rights Coalition

Michigan Disability Rights Coalition (MDRC) works to build opportunities for people with disabilities so they may live fully integrated lives within their chosen communities, now and in the future. Full citizenship is the expected role that people with disabilities will play, and their hopes and dreams parallel those of citizens without disabilities.

According to its website, he organization is especially active in the following areas:
- Assistive Technology, The MDRC maintains a resource directory, an exchange program, and helps people obtain funding for assistive technology devices.
- Healthcare access - The MDRC is taking a lead in assuring people with disabilities are well informed as the state of Michigan implements the Affordable Care Act and expands Medicaid eligibility.

- Leadership, The MDRC has many programs that help people with disabilities to become leaders. These include two leadership training programs targeted to youth with disabilities, as well as a parent training program focused on their viewing their sons and daughters with disabilities as strong and able to take on leadership roles.

Although the organization is focused on communities in Michigan, their website has many resources that are useful for people and communities everywhere.
