AbleData is a federally funded project who purpose is to provide information on assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment from domestic and non-domestic sources. AbleData is sponsored by the National Institute on Disability,Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Click on the "Web Links" tab above to enter the AbleData online database. It contains information on more than 29,000 assistive technology products, with detailed descriptions of each product, pricing, and company information. Included in the database is information on non-commercial prototypes and custom designs. AbleData does not produce or sell any of the products listed nor do they produce a catalog. There is no charge to list a product with AbleData.

AbleData also provides publications and database information in large print, cassette, Braille, and on PC-compatible diskettes. They offer one- and two-day workshops to groups and organizations who want to learn to use the AbleData database more efficiently and effectively. Contact AbleData staff for more information on this subject.

AbleData also offers various publications and fact sheets that can either be downloaded from their website or purchased.
