In addition to tips on how to move through a crisis with media involvement, this book explains the public relations value of establishing media contacts during calm times and how to do so. Steps include assigning and training a spokesperson and alternate and how to prepare press releases for different types of press mediums.

Post-crisis strategies include incident investigations, debriefings, psychological services if needed, and helping families and caregivers understand how consumers might react in the aftermath of a tragedy.
