Employers' Guide to Including People with Disabilities in Emergency Evacuation Plans

| This publication addresses concerns from employers about how to include people with disabilities in company emergency evacuation planning. The guide includes specific informaiton on plan formulation, implementation, and maintenance with hyperlinks to a myriad of other resources, including vendors of accessible communications devices, emergency evacuation devices to help remove individuals with mobility impairments from buildings, and various protective and/or medical devices such as respiratory equipment and protective hoods. At the end of the document is a valuable reference list that includes references to specific sections cited in ADAAG and OSHA, as well as a EEOC guideline to obtaining and using employee medical information as part of emergency evacuation procedures. |
