Inclusion Criteria
To be appropriate for QualityMall.org,
all products and resources must meet these criteria for inclusion:
Overall Criteria

The product represents efforts to enhance the quality
of life for persons with disabilities. Quality of life here indicates
that the product is based on the principles of
|
|
|
(a) self-determination of people with disabilities.
|
|
|
(b) community living and inclusion for people
with disabilities.
|
|
|
(c) valuing people with disabilities and
seeking their contributions.
|
|
2
|
The product represents elements that may be used
or replicated elsewhere.
|
|
3
|
The product is likely to be of broad interest within
the field of developmental disabilities.
|
|
4
|
The product content fits into one of the planned
stores (see store directory).
|
|
5
|
Organizational activities and materials that may
be useful to others are profiled as products, rather than the organizations
themselves. If you represent an organization, nominations should
surround the activities and products of your organization.

Criteria for Materials and Resources
|
1
|
Materials can be print publications, periodicals,
sound or video recordings, CD-ROMs or other digital media, or Websites
that are self-contained and stand-alone. Materials that are part
of or descriptive of training seminars, projects, or organizations
should not be listed directly, but described under the program description
(see below).

|
The item is currently available (i.e., books are
in print, Websites are on-line, etc.) and has been published or
updated in the last ten years (exceptions may exist in special circumstances).

3
|
Materials are of at least good or adequate quality.
|
|
4
|
The material can be adapted for use in various settings
or geographic locations.
|
Criteria for Organizations, Projects
and Activities
|
1
|
The program has been in existence for at least one
year (exceptions will be identified.)
|
|
2
|
The program can be adapted for use in other settings
or geographic locations.
|
|
3
|
The program has a mechanism to incorporate ongoing
feedback from consumers and their family members and direct support
staff members.
|
|
4
|
The program or initiative has materials (publications,
Web links, or other) available to give interested people adequate
information about the program.
|
|
5
|
Program has measurable and
desirable outcomes in improving quality of life for persons with disabilities. |
