Summary:
The sponsor provides lecturing or lecturing/research awards in special education at St. Joseph University, Beirut; Haigazian University, Beirut; or Lebanese American University, Beirut. Approximately three awards will be made. The duration of the awards are five to ten months. A Ph.D. in education or special education or
Ph.D. in cognitive psychology with a specialization in education are required, depending upon the institution. English is the language of instruction; knowledge of Arabic or French is helpful.

Details:
OBJECTIVES:
Grantees will teach one to three graduate or undergraduate courses,
depending on the host institution. Grantees will also consult on
curriculum, advise students, and participate in research. Areas of
specialization include: at St. Joseph University, assessment for
children with special needs; at Haigazian University, any
specialization; and at Lebanese-American University, any
specialization.

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or
equivalent professional/terminal degree at the time of application.
Professionals and artists outside academe must have recognized
professional standing and substantial professional accomplishments.
Previous grantees are eligible only if five years will have elapsed
between the ending date of one scholar award and the beginning date of
the new scholar award (unless the previous grant was for less than two
months).

FUNDING
A monthly stipend ranging from $1,870 to $2,860 is provided as well
as a maintenance and travel/relocation allowance. Faculty housing on
campus may be available or a housing allowance provided. Tuition of up
to $5,000 per child or $10,000 per family for accompanying dependent
children in grades K-12 is reimbursed for a full academic year
