Information for EmployersWhy This Is Important
As employers become more willing to consider people with disabilities as viable candidates for jobs, it is important they have information and support in managing this new employee group. The needs of people with disabilities as they enter new employment situations include protecting their government benefits, evaluating potential jobs and assuring they have the kinds of accommodations that will be necessary for them to be successful.
All of these are also concerns of a new employer, and are addressed through the books, websites, exemplary organizations, and other products in this department. The topics covered include hiring and recruiting workers with disabilities, innovative programs that employers can access or develop information on accessibility and accommodating workers and/or customers with disabilities, examples of and sources for information on technology, tax credits for accommodations and hiring, workplace communications and supervision and other resources for business.
